The technician screen (My Jobs)

3 min read

My Jobs is the technician screen — built for a phone or a tablet on the workshop floor. A tech signed in with the Tech role sees only this: their own jobs, and nothing about pricing, customers’ accounts or the office.

What a tech sees

Jobs assigned to them that the office has sent to tech, and that aren’t finished and paid. Nothing else. Sending a job is deliberate — a job the office is still building doesn’t appear on the floor.

Working a job

  1. Tap Start timer on the job’s card when work begins, and stop it when it ends. Time is recorded against the job, and a tech can only see their own hours.
  2. Tap the job to open it.
  3. Update vehicle details — odometer, build date, VIN — and save. It writes straight back to the vehicle record.
  4. Add an inspection or report and work through it.
  5. Attach photos, before and after.
Tip:The list refreshes when a tech comes back to the app, so a job the office reassigns or pulls updates without them having to close and reopen anything.

Requesting leave

Techs can’t reach the calendar, so they request leave from here. Pick a start and end date and submit; it lands in the pending-leave queue on the office dashboard for an admin to approve.

Their own leave sits under My leave, folded into a card showing the total, when they’re next off, and anything still pending. Open it for the detail. A block of consecutive days shows as one entry, and cancelling a pending block cancels all of it.

What a tech can’t do

  • See prices, totals, or what a job is worth.
  • See other techs’ hours or jobs.
  • Reach bookings, invoices, clients, reports or Settings.

If you want someone on the tools who can see money, use the Contractor role instead — see Invite your team and assign roles.
