About MechOSBuilt from experience. Made for the real world.
MechOS was born out of a simple idea: automotive businesses deserve better software.
I’m Jamie McCully, owner of Certified Automotive, an established automotive repair business on the Gold Coast, Queensland. We operate both a workshop and a mobile mechanic service, working with private customers, fleets and businesses across the region.
Over the years, we’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of running an automotive business — managing bookings, coordinating technicians, keeping customers informed, handling invoices and keeping everything moving efficiently.
Like many businesses, we tried existing software solutions. But we struggled to find a system that genuinely suited the way we operated, particularly when it came to managing both workshop jobs and a team of mobile technicians working across different locations.
We needed software that worked the way an automotive business actually works, not a system that forced us to change our business to fit the software.
Why we built MechOS
After exploring our options, we approached software developers to build something that met our needs. The quotes were eye-watering, and we realised that even a substantial investment wouldn’t necessarily deliver the product we were looking for.
So we decided to build it ourselves.
What started as a solution to our own operational challenges grew into something much bigger. As we developed, tested and refined the platform, MechOS evolved into a comprehensive workshop and mobile service management system — one that we believed could offer something genuinely valuable to other automotive businesses.
Developed in a real automotive business
MechOS wasn’t built in isolation. It was developed and refined inside Certified Automotive, with a team of 10 people using it in their everyday work.
From the office to the workshop floor and out on the road, the team has helped shape the software through real jobs, real customers and real operational challenges.
Features are tested in actual working conditions. Problems are identified through daily use. Improvements are driven by what makes a genuine difference to the way an automotive business operates.
That means MechOS is shaped by practical experience, not just a list of features that looks good in a sales brochure.
Designed for the way automotive businesses work
MechOS brings the essential parts of running an automotive business together in one platform, helping businesses manage their operations with greater visibility, consistency and control.
Whether you’re running a traditional workshop, a mobile mechanic service or a combination of both, MechOS is built around the realities of the automotive industry.
We understand the challenges because we deal with them ourselves.
Our mission
We built MechOS because we wanted better software for our own business. We’re now making it available to other automotive businesses that want to spend less time fighting their systems and more time running their businesses.
We’re not just building software for the automotive industry. We’re building it from within the industry.
MechOS — built on experience, tested in the real world.
