Digital vehicle inspectionsShow the customer what you found
Checklists your techs work through on the job, with OK, Soon and Now results, measurements and photos on each line, shared with the customer as a link or a PDF.

A line that says “brakes” is a hard sell
Telling a customer their car needs more work, over the phone, with nothing to show them, is where good jobs get knocked back. A paper checklist doesn’t help much either: it lives in the car and the customer never sees it.
In MechOS the inspection is part of the job, photos included, and the customer gets their own copy.
How it works
Ready on day one
New workshops start with a service checklist and a pre-purchase inspection ready to use. Change them, or copy one to make your own.
Three kinds of line
An OK, Soon or Now check; a measurement, such as pad thickness or tyre tread; or a grid, like four wheels against a few readings.
Photos on the line they belong to
Attach photos to any line, taken there and then or picked from the phone. Photograph the fault first and mark the line afterwards, if that suits the way you work.
A mis-tap is easy to undo
Tapping a result that’s already selected clears it, so a slip on a phone doesn’t mean starting the line again.
Shared as a link or a PDF
Share the finished inspection to the customer’s link for the job, or email it as a PDF. The photos go with it.

Questions workshops ask
Can my techs fill them in on a tablet or phone?
Yes. They open the job from My Jobs, work down the list, and attach photos to any line with the camera or from the phone’s photos.
Can I use my own checklists?
Yes. Change the ones you start with, or copy one to make a variant. Each line can be an OK, Soon or Now check, a measurement, or a grid such as four wheels against a few readings.
What does the customer see?
Their own copy of the checklist, with your notes and photos, on the job’s link or as a PDF. A photo of the worn pad is an easier conversation than a line that says “brakes”.
Can I see which checks find the most?
Yes. Reports lists the checks marked Now or Soon most often, for every vehicle or one make and model, and puts each tech’s inspections side by side: lines answered, what they find, photos and time taken.
