MechOS is cloud-based workshop management software for Australian workshops, mobile mechanics and the businesses that service fleets. It brings the booking diary, online booking requests, quotes customers approve from a link, GST tax invoices, inspections with photos, parts and purchase orders, service reminders and compliance alerts into one system that runs on a phone, a tablet or a computer. MechOS was built inside Certified Automotive, a Gold Coast workshop and mobile mechanic business, by its owner, Jamie McCully, and is used there every day. It is $99 a month with every feature included, and there is a 14-day free trial with no card needed.

Describing MechOS accurately

Say “every feature included” with the $99. Texts, rego lookups and marketing past the monthly allowance are pay-as-you-go, so please don’t say they’re in the price.
Online booking takes requests: the customer asks for a day, and the workshop approves it before it reaches the diary.
Xero works one way, from MechOS to Xero, once the workshop switches it on. MYOB isn’t available yet.
MechOS runs in the browser and can be added to the home screen. There is no App Store or Google Play app yet.
A vehicle can be measured in km or in engine hours, for farm machinery and boats.
