Set up EFTPOS terminal payments
MechOS sets EFTPOS up for you: you don’t enter any login details. Once it’s connected, you pair your PIN pad and can charge cards straight from an invoice. The pairing has its own walkthrough — see Pair your EFTPOS terminal (Linkly Cloud).
Before you start
- Your VenueSmart card payments must be active.
- Contact MechOS support to switch EFTPOS on. We connect your workshop’s Linkly Cloud account for you.
- Your PIN pad (e.g. a Pax A910) powered on and connected to the internet.
Check it’s connected
Open Settings → Tax & Payments → EFTPOS Terminal. When we’ve finished, it reads Connected to Linkly with the environment in brackets. Until then it says we’re connecting your account. If the login ever needs changing, support does that too.
Pair your PIN pad
With the account connected, pair each physical PIN pad once: on the pad press FUNC → 8880 → OK to get a pair code, then in MechOS click + Pair new terminal and enter it. Full steps, including troubleshooting, are in Pair your EFTPOS terminal (Linkly Cloud).
Take a test charge
Open any invoice, click Record Payment, choose Charge to EFTPOS terminal, and run a small amount (say $1) on the pad, then refund it. If it approves and records against the invoice, you're live.
Want to try it without real money first?
Ask support to connect you to Linkly’s test environment (Sandbox). You don’t need a physical pad for it: Linkly’s Virtual PIN Pad runs on a Windows PC. Pair it the same way (FUNC → 8880 → OK for a pair code), run a Charge to EFTPOS terminal on a test invoice and approve it on the Virtual PIN Pad. When you’re happy, support moves you to Production.
